(FORT WAYNE) - A Fort Wayne man accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend and cutting off her hair in front of their 2-year-old son last week was formally charged Wednesday.
The Journal Gazette reports that Otis Reed, 40, of the 300 block of West Washington Center Road, is charged with intimidation, criminal recklessness and domestic battery.
He was being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
While visiting his ex-girlfriend and son at their home April 25, Reed grabbed the woman by the side of the neck and pushed her to the floor in the bathroom, according to court documents.
Reed then told her she had two options - have her throat slit or have all of her hair cut off, court documents said.
The woman begged Reed not to kill her, so he cut off all her hair with a pair of scissors while their son watched from the doorway, documents said.
