(TERRE HAUTE) - A Terre Haute man accused of beating another man and stealing his wallet and shoes pleaded guilty Monday.
Joe Astrouski of WTHI reports, 18-year-old Zachary Carson, was arrested in July 2012, after police said he beat Dakota Joy, stole a pair of tennis shoes and a wallet containing $127. He was initially charged with robbery resulting in bodily injury.
On Monday, Carson pleaded guilty to the charge. Under a plea agreement, he would be sentenced to 12 years in prison, with eight years executed and four years suspended. He would also receive 422 days credit for time served in jail.
