(MERRILLVILLE) - Veterans’ organizations from across Lake County once again came to the Veterans section of Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville Sunday to honor those who served and those who died for our country to remain free.
At last count, 625,000 have died since World War I -- a number that is the same as the combined populations of Lake and Porter Counties.
Indiana American Legion Department Commander Richard Jewell says honoring those who died is the best we can do for them and their families.
