(INDIANAPOLIS) - A massive effort was underway Sunday where 40,000 highly-nutritious meals were packaged at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
The packed meals are all going to Guatemala - one of the poorest countries, ranking 4th in the world for child malnutrition.
Kids Against Hunger organized the event and more than 150 volunteers, as young as 5 years old, helped make it happen.
"Each package has enough ingredients to feed a family of six, it includes all of your vitamins and minerals, it includes all of the protein that you need, it also includes the rice which is just to fill the bellies," Janelle Oles, Kids Against Hunger board member said.
The meals will go to the Nueva Esperanza Feeding Center in Guatemala.
