(CLARK CO.) - A Charlestown woman is lucky to be alive after being injured in a car crash, that wasn’t discovered till three days later.
Claudia Coffey of WHAS11.com reports the accident happened on Highway 62, near Charlestown Friday.
24-year-old Jenevieve Elliott was driving along a winding, heavily wooded portion of Highway 62, an area that would make it almost impossible for someone to find her after her car careened off the road.
According to sheriff's deputies, Elliott over corrected, went off the road, then traveled about 450 feet back into the woods.
Three days later, Becky Ferree, a Good Samaritan, drove by and noticed something unusual.
Ferree says at first all she saw was an arm waving then she found Elliott who could barely move.
Detective Chris Proctor from the Clark County Sheriff's Office was one of the first to respond to the scene.
Elliot had crawled up the ravine to try and get help.
Elliott had a fractured hip and rib cage, along with lacerations to her spleen and kidneys. She was airlifted to University Hospital. Ferree says she's just happy she was at the right place at the right time and helped save a life.
