(CORYDON) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred on private property near Corydon Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., Conservation Officers were called to the Harrison County Hospital, where the 4-year-old operator was being treated for injuries, including a broken arm.
The victim, Leeandra Maldonado, 4, of Corydon, was operating the youth model ATV with a 3-year-old passenger when she lost control and was thrown from the ATV.
Maldonado's guardian was supervising and quickly rendered aid.
Neither child was wearing a helmet or any safety equipment.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and necessary safety equipment when operating an ATV.
