(ANDERSON) - The Madison County Government Center and Anderson City Hall were evacuated Tuesday morning following a bomb threat.
Anderson police received the call around 8:45 a.m. from a downtown payphone. According to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson, the caller said there was a chemical bomb.
The buildings were evacuated around 9:30 a.m. and bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to search the buildings.
Authorities allowed entry into the building just before 1 p.m. after no bomb was found.
