(NOBLE COUNTY) - A five-year-old boy was rushed to a Fort Wayne hospital after a near drowning incident at Bixler Lake in Noble County on Saturday.
Indiana Conservation officers are investigating the incident.
It happened just before 5:00 pm. The boy was at the beach at Bixler Lake Park in Kendallville with his family when he went missing. Lifeguards conducting a headcount were one person short when the father of the victim also reported him missing.
The boy was located almost immediately floating in approximately five feet of water. He was unresponsive. Lifeguards and Medics performed CPR until EMS personnel arrived and took over.
The boy was transported to Parkview Hospital in Noble county and later flown to Parkview-Ft. Wayne for further treatment.
