(MORRISTOWN) - 11 school cafeteria employees were fired from Shelbyville Eastern schools on Thursday after food service staff at Morristown schools wholesale uncovered serious operational dysfunction in the cafeterias.
Superintendent Brad Valentine said, over the past two years, the cafeteria budget at Morristown has lost $55,000. Some of the reasons cited for the money shortfall were too many workers logging excessive hours, wasted food and poor supervision of the cash register.
Valentine said the employees also can appeal to the school board asking members to host an executive session meeting to discuss their termination.
