(OAKLANDON) - McCordsville police are investigating an accident early Monday involving a car that crashed into the rear of a house in an Oaklandon neighborhood.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. police were called to the area of East 65th Street and Pendleton Pike.
Investigators say the driver of a Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling at an estimated 89 mph when her vehicle left Pendleton Pike,went airborne, ramped over a 5 foot fence, and landed upside down into the back of a house.
Its believed a tree the vehicle struck before the car landed may have slowed it down some before impact.
No one was home at the time of the crash.
The driver was not seriously injured but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Investigators say the 29 year old female driver appeared to be intoxicated.
McCordsville police have not yet released the drivers name.
