(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis Metro Police Department officer was injured when he crashed his squad car into a pole late Sunday.
Anne Kelly, of RTV6 reports, the crash was reported about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Michigan and Township Line roads.
The impact of the crash nearly split the car in half, dispatchers said.
The officer said he hit the pole after swerving out of the way of another car.
The IMPD officer was taken to Methodist Hospital for a breath-sobriety test as a standard procedure and for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
