(INDIANAPOLIS) - Metro Police arrested an 18-year-old man after he was seen walking near the State Fairgrounds with an AK-47.
Police received an anonymous 911 call reporting they saw a man walking on 38th Street with what they believed to be a shotgun at 2:30 Wednesday morning.
When police arrived at 38th and Orchard, they saw a man running away. He dropped the AK-47 as he ran, and police secured both soon. Police say the 18-year-old they apprehended has a criminal past, so possessing a firearm opens him up to felony charges.
Police say they also detained other men in the area, and arrested one 17-year-old for a curfew violation.
