(ATTICA) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a dirt bike crash that resulted in the death of an Attica man.
Officials say Royse L. Green, 38, left a rural Independence residence on a Suzuki DRZ bike. Two people still at the residence stated that they heard Green leave at what sounded like a high rate of speed. They then stated that there was a sudden stop of the engine noise down the road from the residence. The two subjects from the residence went down the road and located Green lying on his back, on the road, still straddling the bike.
The witnesses called 911 and began CPR. Life saving efforts were continued at the scene by emergency responders, but they were not able to revive Green.
It is believed through the preliminary investigation, that Green possibly hit an animal with the dirt bike. This is based off of damage to the front of the bike, possible animal hair, blood and fecal matter located on the bike.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The investigation is ongoing pending the results of the autopsy and toxicology testing.
