(GARY) - Northwestern Indiana police say a man accused of choking a prostitute until she passed out confessed to killing her, unaware she had survived the attack.
The Post-Tribune reports that a 31-year-old man arrived at the Schererville police station two days after the April attack and confessed his involvement.
Police say he told officers a 41-year-old friend was the attacker. The older man maintained the other man was responsible.
The woman was choked unconscious and left along a Gary street but was treated at a hospital and survived. She told police one of them men choked and beat her while the other kicked her several times as they stole her money.
Both men now face robbery, criminal confinement and strangulation charges in the attack.
