(FOUNTAIN COUNTY) - Despite hours of toiling over a man stuck in a farming grain bin, crews were unable to get him out in time and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Veedersburg and Attica fire crews - along with the Fountain County Sheriff's Office - were at the grain bin all day, where they were working to rescue the man, who somehow got sucked into a grain bin sometime in the morning hours on Wednesday.
The grain bin is located on a property off of Stone Bluff Road just north of Veedersburg.
Officials told WLFI-TV that emergency crews worked on recovery until 3:30 p.m., when they finally were able to get the man out.
It was too late, however, and crews pronounced him dead at the scene. The man's identity has not been released at this time.
