(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police are investigating after a person was shot in the neck and then went into a nearby McDonald’s on the city’s west side.
RTV6 reports that the victim was found in the restaurant near the 3400 block of West 16th Street near North Tibbs Avenue.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot and found the male victim alert and breathing, but suffering from a gunshot wound.
Detectives believed the victim was actually shot in the 1400 block of Alton Avenue and then walked to McDonalds for help.
The victim was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in stable, but serious condition, police said.
Police were searching for suspects who may have fled into a nearby neighborhood.
No other injuries were reported.
