(GREENWOOD) - A central Indiana teenager who has raised nearly $100,000 to buy toys for children at an Indianapolis children’s hospital is looking for someone to continue his work once he enrolls in college next year.
Cayman Jarvis of Center Grove has hosted a basketball tournament every year since he was 10 to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. This year's tournament is his eighth and will be held Friday on the street in front of his house.
He started the tournament in 2006 for fun, but it quickly became an effort to raise money for the Riley Cheer Guild after a teammate on Jarvis's football team was diagnosed with leukemia.
Jarvis plans to attend Indiana University next year and hopes to find someone to continue the tournaments.
