(FORT WAYNE) - An ice cream truck driver was robbed and then shot by two suspects near the intersection of Webster and Killea Streets Saturday evening, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
WANE TV reports, FWPD spokesperson John Chambers says that at around 8:30 p.m., two suspects approached an ice cream truck driver while he was stopped inside of the truck and demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.
Chambers said one of the suspects shot the ice cream truck driver and the two suspects then fled on foot. Police are unsure how much money, if any, they got away with.
As of Sunday morning, the two suspects are still on the loose, according to Chambers.
Chambers said the victim is listed in serious condition.
The Report!t picture shows the ice cream truck near the intersection of Broadway and W. Jefferson Boulevard. Chambers said the initial reports show the shooting happened on Webster and Killea Streets. He is not sure how or why the truck got there.
