(MUNCIE) - Police in Muncie say a woman that an officer stopped after seeing her drive through a yard had a blood-alcohol level more than six times the state’s legal limit.
Police say a test done at a hospital found the 43-year-old woman with a blood-alcohol level of 0.501 percent. Indiana's legal limit is 0.08 percent.
The Star Press reports an officer spotted the woman driving erratically Tuesday evening and that she drove through a yard, hit a parked car and nearly collided with an approaching police car on neighborhood streets. An officer was able to reach into the car and shut it off after the woman came to a rolling stop.
The woman was hospitalized overnight before being jailed on drunken driving charges.
