(CARMEL) - Two Carmel women each face multiple felony charges after a five-month old baby died at their in-home daycare center.
The baby was found dead on January 24, 2013 in the home daycare operated by 43-year-old Stacey Cox and her 22-year-old daughter Kirsten Phillips. While investigating the death of the child, Carmel Police found the daycare was operating in violation of a cease and desist order given in October 2012 by the Indiana Attorney General's Office.
Both Cox and Phillips were arrested Friday and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. They each face felony charges of neglect of a dependant resulting in death, reckless homicide and involuntary manslaughter. Cox is also charged with three other misdemeanor charges.
Cox is being held on $70,000 dollars cash bond and Phillips is being held on 65-thousand dollars cash bond.
