(UNDATED) -The Better Business Bureau has issued a nationwide alert for Local Business Yellow Pages, which may be soliciting in the area.
Incoming complaints allege that businesses have received unsubstantiated billings for over $600, for local internet yellow page listings.
These "verbal agreements" originate from phone calls soliciting a "yes" response, from a Local Business Yellow Pages' representative.
The caller asks the business general questions to solicit a "yes" answer, although the person on the call does not actually agree to the service.
Later collection calls come through, with an edited recording used to substantiate the false verbal agreement and collect on the bill for over $600.
The Bureau has received over 100 complaints in the past few weeks.
