(EVANSVILLE) - An Evansville man is in jail Sunday night and facing a long list of charges after a shooting and standoff in Evansville.
WFIE reports, Evansville police say the suspect had been drinking on Saturday night when he got into an argument. Police say the suspect went home to get his gun, drove to the area near Madison and Rotherwood and started firing.
Police say the suspect, 42-year-old Russell Meserve parked his car outside of a home and started running. Police say he was carrying what one witness described as a "Call of Duty" type gun.
Meserve was in front of a house when police say he started firing. Police say one bullet hit the front door after someone ran inside.
Police tell us Meserve then ran to a friend's house on Ravenswood.
"As we were establishing a perimeter to safely take him into custody, the subject came out and fled down the street. He was apprehended by a patrol officer and is in custody at this point. The weapon has been recovered," EPD Sergeant Greg Motz said.
Police say no one was injured.
