(INDIANAPOLIS) - Thousands gathered in downtown Indianapolis Thursday night for one of the state’s largest fireworks celebrations.
It was a much cooler day than last year as people from all over came to the Indiana War Memorial to watch the annual downtown fireworks spectacular.
Many people enjoyed how much the event has grown over the past few years.
Several Arrested, Hotel Surrounded
Several arrests were reported as fights broke out and unruly crowds kept police busy during the downtown Indianapolis Freedom Blast fireworks festival Thursday night.
Miles away from the festival, undercover police surrounded a hotel off Interstate 465 when a guest reported two middle eastern men discussing a bomb or explosions.
Indianapolis Homeland Security Chief Gary Coons declined to discuss details of that case, saying it was still an active investigation.
