(CROWN POINT) - A northern Indiana teenager charged as an adult in the rapes of three girls has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
17-year-old Dedrick Johnson was sentenced Thursday in a Lake County court after pleading guilty to battery and three counts of rape in the attacks.
The Times of Munster reports that a count of aggravated battery and two counts of robbery were dismissed against Johnson as part of his plea.
The Hammond teen was waived into adult court because of the violent nature of the attacks, which occurred in 2011 when he was 15.
