(PERU) - High winds caused significant damage in northern Indiana on Wednesday afternoon.
Miami County Emergency Management and the Peru Fire Department were assessing the damage, which included trees down and vehicles overturned. Businesses along Main Street reported significant damage. There was also damage to a park.
At least one mobile home was destroyed by strong winds. About a dozen cars were damaged and one home was possibly destroyed after a large tree fell onto the house.
Emergency management official Dave Moon said the most severe injury reported was a broken toe.
