(NEW CASTLE) - A man is facing felony charges after reports that he took a 6-year-old girl from a playground and molested her in his apartment, police said.
RTV 6 reports, Caleb Cooper, 19, was arrested on felony charges of child molesting and criminal confinement Sunday evening after police were called to his New Castle apartment.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Cooper approached four children playing on an apartment complex playground and started pushing them on the swings and telling them about a kitten he had in his apartment.
Cooper then grabbed a 6-year-old girl by the wrist and took her into his apartment and shut the door, court documents said.
The three other children -- one of whom was the older brother of the girl -- knocked on the door of Cooper's apartment and tried to get him to open the door, police said.
When that failed, the children began knocking on other doors in the apartment building and asking for help. One of the neighbors who answered the door for the children called police.
When an officer arrived at Cooper's apartment, Cooper was getting dressed when he answered the door, and the girl was found naked in a bedroom, police said.
Police said that while Cooper was being transported to the police station, he told the officer, "She wanted to have sex with me. It was her idea."
Police said Cooper told them he was arrested when he was 14 for having sex with a child, but he was not listed in the sex offender registry.
