(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police have identified a teenager killed in a shooting following a Fourth of July fireworks show in downtown Indianapolis.
Authorities said Friday the shooting victim was 16-year-old Monquize Edwards of Indianapolis.
Police said the shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at an intersection two blocks south of Monument Circle. The victim was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported from the shooting.
No arrests were immediately made.
Officials and activists have repeatedly complained about large groups of teens who are left downtown without any supervision.
Bailey says police also confiscated a gun from a 20-year-old man Thursday night.
