Last updated on Thursday, July 11, 2013

(NEW PALESTINE) - New Palestine Police have made an arrest in the theft of a Riley Kids Donation box.

Police arrested 44-year-old Douglas A. Wiggington of Cumberland, Indiana. He is in custody at the Hancock County Jail.

It happened on June 18th at the Speedway gas station in New Palestine. A late shift employee identified Wiggington as a possible suspect and told police he regularly visited the Cumberland store.

Detectives say two white males in a white or silver Dodge pick-up pumped $20 worth of gas at the Speedway gas station at 5058 West US 52, then entered the store. One of the men stole the Riley donation bucket from the counter, which contained approximately $50 to $60.

Last month, a man was arrested for stealing a Riley Kids donation bucket at a gas station in Lebanon.
