(GREENWOOD) - A Greenwood woman was arrested Sunday after she broke into a home and stole several items.
WISH TV reports, police responded to the 700 block of Tulip Lane on a burglary report around 7 a.m. Sunday.
The owner of the home says one of his window screens was knocked out. The owner reported that several items were missing including a new pair of Nike shoes a hat, a coat, a light blue Schwin BMX-style bike and a set of house keys. The owner noticed a wet grassy pair of shoes was left in the laundry room closet. A wallet was stolen but was later returned by a middle-aged woman after found in the middle of the street.
Around 9:40 a.m., police responded to Southland Community Church, 5800 block of West Smith Valley Road, for a female who was inside the church and confused.
The woman told police she was out all night and rode a bike to the church. She was also wearing shoes that matched the description to those stolen from a home.
The woman, identified as Alice Stier, 27, was arrested for burglary and was taken to the Johnson County Jail.
During an interview, Stier admitted to breaking into the home and stealing several items because she was cold and hungry. Food items stolen included a juice box and a can of sardines.
