(INDIANAPOLIS) - Metro Police say four people were shot outside a Broad Ripple nightclub early this morning.
Jim Scott, of WISH TV8 reports, shortly before 3 a.m. police and ambulances were called to the 700 block of Broad Ripple Avenue on a report of multiple people shot.
The victims were taken to Wishard and IU Health Methodist Hospitals. One person was reported to be in critical but was later upgraded to serious condition. The other three victims were in good condition.
Witnesses told WISH-TV 24 Hour News 8 two groups of people got into a fight outside The Vogue .
The fight reportedly moved down the street. The witnesses said while it started with punches, someone pulled out a gun and started firing into the crowd.
Witnesses estimated 8 to 10 shots were fired.
Others who were walking in the area said when the shots rang out, they jumped over the wooden railing of Naked Chop Sticks restaurant and dove for cover.
Police reportedly took one person into custody following the shooting.
Both College Ave and Broad Ripple Avenue were closed in that area as police investigated the shooting.
