(SOUTH BEND) - Fire department officials say an arson fire at a playground at a South Bend school damaged rubber mats covering the ground and damaged some of the equipment.
South Bend Fire Department Battalion Chief Carl Buchanon told WSBT-TV (http://bit.ly/1bkJj7e) that the "park was on fire" when crews arrived just after 10:30 a.m.
Saturday at the Harrison Primary Center playground on the city's southwest side.
Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses said they saw kids running away from the area.
