(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis couple is in trouble. They’re facing neglect charges after their three-year-old was found wandering at the Indiana State Fair.
Johan Robinson and Lindsay Minkner are the parents of the little girl. She was found at the State Fair barefoot and wearing only a dirty diaper. Police located the father looking for his child at a nearby apartment complex, but he had not called 911 to report the girl missing.
Robinson told police he had arrived home overnight and the couple was asleep when the little girl got out. They face neglect charges.
According to police, the child was found at the fairgrounds at around 10:30 am. She was too young to tell police her name or where she lived. At around noon, an Indiana State trooper who happened to be driving through the apartment complex was flagged down by Robinson, who said his child was missing.
One of the responding police officers recognized the couple from a previous run two weeks earlier. On Aug. 3rd, their daughter was found wandering around outside the apartment building barefoot and wearing only a diaper.
Robinson came to the office after the child had been missing for two hours, according to police.
Child Protective Services investigated but released the girl back to her parents, who said they would add locks to their door to prevent the girl from opening it.
But now, two weeks later, their daughter got out again. This time, Robinson and Minkner face child neglect charges.
