(GREENWOOD) - Greenwood leaders say they have been reassured that a bankruptcy filing by the company that runs the city’s 911 ambulance service will not affect safety.
Rural-Metro Ambulance, of Scottsdale, Arizona, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday. The ambulance service says it has worked out an agreement with its creditors that will allow it to continue service without interruption.
Rural-Metro provides ambulance service in 21 states and 700 communities.
A Greenwood spokesperson said the city has a contingency plan just in case.
