(UNDATED) - Members of law enforcement are receiving additional training for a difficult to track crime.
Thursday, officers were presented with up-to-date information from experts on pharmaceutical fraud. It was also a time for officers to network with one another.
They say prescription fraud and abuse is on the rise and is more sophisticated than ever.
"There's so much of it going on that enforcement really has to prioritize who they focus on," said Scott Mellinger.
Officers were also trained on how illegal trafficking and abuse of medications can create problems for those who have a legitimate need for those types of medicines.
