(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 34-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested after police named him as a suspect in the murder of one man and the attempted murder of another earlier this week.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit detectives arrested Cortez Jones for the murder of Anthony Kimmons and the attempted murder of Reginald Fagan.
IMPD said the incidents happened Tuesday in Aspen Village Apartments, located in the 3500 block of Kebil Drive.
Investigators said Jones has been preliminarily charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office is set to review the probable cause affidavit and make the final charging decisions, and IMPD said the case is expected to be screened next week.
IMPD also said Jones was arrested on a parole violation warrant related to a previous robbery conviction.
