(GASTON) - A demolition derby participant in eastern Indiana has died.
Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn says 43-year-old Todd Delaney of Muncie was pronounced after being taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie on Saturday night.
The Star Press reports Delaney had been participating in the derby at the Gaston Lions Club Fair, about 50 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Hahn says an autopsy was expected to be performed.
The remainder of the derby was canceled.
Demolition derbies pit drivers crashing their vehicles into others until only one is still moving.
