(FRANKLIN) - Jurors found a former juvenile detention center maintenance worker guilty of child molestation and other charges involving two boys over a five-year period.
Dwayne Carter, 53, was convicted of child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of matter harmful to minors and possession of child pornography.
Jurors deliberated for about three hours after a three-day trial. Both victims testified.
Carter was arrested in July 2012. One of the victims reported him to police after finding a nude picture on Carter's phone that led him to believe the man was molesting another child. The boy said Carter had also molested him. Both victims were younger than 15 when the abuse started, police said. Carter performed sex acts on them and showed them pornographic videos.
Carter was a maintenance worker at the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. He resigned in August 2012, about a month after his arrest.
Carter faces a minimum of 20 years and up to 149 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for November.
