(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man was shot in an attempted robbery early Friday on the city’s north side, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.
The shooting happened just after 6:30 a.m. at a home near 73rd Street and Spring Mill Road in the Meridian Hills area.
Police said the victim, 59-year-old Garnell Love, was in his garage preparing to leave for work when a man wearing a bandana attempted to rob him. According to the police report, Love said the man tried to duct tape his hands. When he fought back, the suspect shot him in the legs and ran away.
Love was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital in good condition.
Detectives described the suspect as black, about 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing dark clothing.
