(CARMEL) - The teenager from Carmel, Carly VanArsdall, who was reported missing Saturday morning has been found safe in Pickens County, South Carolina.
Carmel police with help from authorities in South Carolina were able to find VanArsdall at the home of a 23-year-old man. According to Carmel police VanArsdall has been having an online relationship with the man since February of this year.
She is being held in protective custody by the Pickens County Sheriff's Department until she can be released to her parents.
The investigation is on-going and Carmel Police are working with the Hamilton County Prosecutor's office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
Carly VanArsdall left her residence in the 1400 block of 2nd Way in Carmel with some personal items around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Due to Carly's known medical conditions, there was concern for her well being.
