(CORYDON) - A report says the two southern Indiana teens charged in the brutal slayings of a Harrison County couple met less than two months ago while both were being treated at a psychiatric hospital.
The Courier-Journal reports that Austin Scott of New Albany and Kevin Andrew Schuler of Greenville, both 18, met at Wellstone Regional Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Scott's aunt, Shannon Graham, tells the newspaper her nephew was being treated for depression and Schuler for drug addiction. Schuler had recently been charged with heroin possession.
Graham says after the two were released, Scott practically moved in with Schuler's family in Greenville.
Now each faces two counts of murder, robbery and other charges in the slayings of Aug. 3 slayings of 70-year-old Gary Henderson and 57-year-old Asenath Arnold.
