(YOUNG AMERICA) - About 200 pigs died and 100 had to be gathered when a semi overturned in Cass County on Wednesday, the Pharos-Tribune, reports.
The crash happened before 11 a.m. Wednesday on Ind. 18, outside of the small town of Young America. It's about half way between Kokomo and Logansport. A semi going around a curve had a mechanical problem and its load shifted, causing the vehicle to roll.
Although the driver wasn't injured, 200 pigs died. Local farmers helped gather the remaining 100 pigs. They were loaded into trailers and taken to Burlington.
