(INDIANAPOLIS) - Detectives have determined that the victim of a shooting Saturday night was not the result of a drive-by shooting.
They have found that the 11-year-old boy was shot in the arm by his 13-year-old sister.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers were called to the 3500 block of Dubarry around 9 p.m. Saturday for the report of a person shot.
Initial police reports indicated the child may have been a victim of a drive-by shooting but further investigation on Sunday found that the story was not true.
Detectives do not believe it was intentional shooting but continue to investigate. Child protection services are also investigating.
Crews at the scene said the child was awake and alert before being taken by ambulance to Riley Children's Hospital.
