(CRAWFORDSVILLE) - Crawfordsville City Councilman Billy Davis appeared in Montgomery County Court Friday on charges of felony criminal recklessness and a misdemeanor count of carrying a weapon without a license.
The charges stem from a July 31 incident in which Davis walked to a neighbor's residence and began waving a gun around. He also made comments about firing on officers.
At the time of his arrest, it was determined Davis was a danger to himself and others and an Emergency Detention Order was issued.
Davis entered a preliminary plea of not guilty. If found guilty he could face up to three years in prison and would have to forfeit his council seat.
