Teen Injured After Go-Kart Crashes Into Tree

(LAFAYETTE) - A 13-year old girl is recovering at Riley Children’s Hospital after she crashed her go-kart into a tree.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon in Lafayette near Hershey Elementary School in Tippecanoe County.

Sheriff's deputies say Lindsey White was driving with her stepfather when she swerved to miss another Go-Kart and hit a tree.

White was air-lifted with serious head and chest injuries.

Deputies said that neither White nor her stepfather were wearing helmets.
