(PUTNAM CO.) - A traffic stop in Putnam County led to the discovery of a quarter pound of suspected marijuana Thursday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., an Indiana State Police trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 70 for a broken taillight. When the trooper approached the car, he noticed the small of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Police say a search of the car yielded approximately one-quarter pound of suspected marijuana, packaged and placed in a trash bag in the trunk.
The passenger in the car, 19-year-old Trayon L. Turner, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana over 30 grams, a Class D felony, and dealing in marijuana, a Class D felony.
The driver, 22-year-old Darius Gordon was cited for driving while suspended and released.
