(PIERCETON) - Police say a woman was badly injured when she was hit in the head during an argument over use of the clothes dryer at a northern Indiana campground.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department says the 24-year-old Columbia City woman was taken from the Jellystone Campground near Pierceton in critical condition Sunday to a Fort Wayne hospital.
Police say the investigation alleged that the female had been battered severely by Michael Patrick Zimny, 54, Glenwood, Illinois. Deputies arrested and jailed the man on preliminary felony charges of aggravated battery.
The victim was struck in the temple area and became unconscious as she tried returning to her site in the campground about 30 miles west of Fort Wayne.
