(OTTERBEIN) - Authorities are working to determine the identity of a body found near a wrecked car spotted by a farmer while harvesting crops in western Indiana.
State police say the body was found about 120 yards from where the car was wrecked in a wooded area of rural Warren County. The car had been rented by a 51-year-old Indianapolis woman who was reported missing in August.
Sgt. Tony Slocum says an autopsy on Thursday failed to confirm the identity of the body found Wednesday and that dental records and DNA samples would be used by investigators.
The crash site is in a rural area about 15 miles west of Lafayette.
