(FRANKFORT) - A Clinton County couple is in hot water after state police said they were arrested for illegally manufacturing alcohol and possibly selling it illegally, as well.
Indiana State Police say an investigation recently led troopers to arrest Joshua Williams, 32, and his girlfriend, Amanda Crick, 22, both of Frankfort, Ind.
An anonymous tip led troopers to an apartment at 700 St. Mary's Ave., where they found equipment used to illegally make distilled liquor (also known as an unlicensed still). Troopers said the equipment was attached to an LP tank (used to store propane) and was utilizing an open flame source.
Among other items, investigators said they found finished distilled alcohol, also known as moonshine. ISP said there was also a 2-year-old boy in the home. He was released into the care of other family members.
Williams was arrested on a felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance, plus two misdemeanor charges of possession of unlicensed equipment and sale of an untaxed beverage. Crick was arrested on two felony charges: maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent.
The couple was booked at the Clinton County Jail.
