(NORTH VERNON) - Indiana State Police are hosting the International Police Work Dog Association Nationals this week in southeastern Indiana.
The event runs Monday through Friday at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center near North Vernon in Jennings County. It is the second time in three years state police are hosting the event. During the weeklong event, police work dog teams will take part in search and rescue, utility, explosive, drug, and scenario based training and certifications.
Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Dennis Wade tells WIBC-FM that 165 teams from across the nation in addition to Bermuda and Canada are participating.
