(GREENFIELD) - A student was detained after bringing a gun to Greenfield Central High School on Tuesday.
Greenfield school administrators say the high school got an anonymous tip that a student may be carrying a gun to school. The student was taken to the principal's office by a school resource officer and a search turned up a small handgun.
Greenfield Police escorted the student from the high school. They will investigate the incident.
"Greenfield Central High School would like to thank individuals who made the right choice to inform the school administration, allowing for the early intervention. Greenfield Central will continue to be vigilant to keep our schools and our students safe," said Greenfield Central High School Principal Steve Bryant and Superintendent Linda Gellert in a statement to media.
